CommentsUnable to find George Shubert on your web site. I have a "brick wall" with my Isaac Shubert (my gg-grandfather) who may be descended from Michael Shubert. Apparently father and son were each named Isaac. The older Isaac was involved in the Revolutionay War. The younger was born about 1812. The family was mostly in Philadelphia and surroundings. Isaac married Catharine Harris (born in NY) in New Orleans in 1840. His oldest son, George, lived in Mississippi and in New Orleans. George, Henry, and Francis (Frank) were names used frequently throughout the generations. I'm hoping you may have a connection or at least a direction I could follow. I have really old info (1770's), but it all seems to dry up in 1800 or so. Thank you so very much. Teddy's grandfather was Valentine Buhrer & Lola Buhrer Gingrich was his mother. We just had our reunion this past Saturday & Sunday. It was sad for us that there were only 39 there. They remodeled the club house & put in central air, lowered the ceilings, put in new kitchen tile & painted the cupboards. Just absolutely awesome. They painted the dark paneling white & it made such a tremendous difference in there. Next year the hosts will be the Guzzo's & the Johnston's. They are Teddy's sisters. The patriarch of the family is John Grover of Liberal. He is 103. The Grovers had a death in the family & could not attend. We did enjoy seeing each other & look forward to next Labor Day weekend. I enlisted in the USAF in 1964 and was trained at Lowry on the Falcon. Sent to Loring, Maine in the FIS squadron there (F-106) and worked in the missile shop as missile tech and console maintenance. Later sent to Hahn, AB, Germany. A screw-up in orders ending up sending almost 30 of us Falconites to an ammo dump at Morbach, Germany, where they were converting an old warehouse into a Missile Shop. We were falling all over each other, and being farmed out for important jobs, like sweeping out ammo bunkers, and transporting 500 lb bombs to Frankfurt. Later, I wrangled a transfer back to the main base (Hahn) and joined the missile shop with the FIS there; the last 6 months of my tour I was in pilot debriefing, processing and reading WSEM tapes for the pilots - best job I had! I knew that Eliza Adams Shubert married Andrew Malseed and lived in Philadelphia. Their parents were Geroge and Eliza Beckhorn Shubert, also from Philadelphia. We have not found the Shuberts farther back but there was a George, William and the first known in this country was Johann Schubert about 1770. A cousin and also a Shubert descendant is researching along with me on the family. It is nice to know that there are others out there. I have information on the Shuberts for Eliza Adams generation if you would like it.
